Ipsum Group acquires B&S Group Ltd, strengthening our power engineering and off-site modular substation build and system integration capabilities.

 

Ipsum Group has announced the acquisition of Chester-based B&S Group Ltd. The strategic transaction further strengthens Ipsum’s Power division, significantly expanding its capabilities in custom electrical engineering, off-site build and nationwide power system solutions.

 

B&S Group Ltd brings over 30 years of asset engineering experience in the design, off-site build, and installation of bespoke electrical equipment and integrated power systems. Their capabilities include advanced electrical fabrication, low-voltage switchgear, modular build high-voltage substations and the design and assembly of containerised e-house’s, alongside turnkey power infrastructure and smart grid engineering solutions.

The acquisition introduces a dedicated off-site build and technical integration facility to Ipsum’s portfolio. This engineering solution underpins Ipsum’s delivery capabilities, seamlessly expanding its core offering and scope. The addition of B&S Group Ltd further enhances Ipsum’s technical capacity to deliver highly tailored, end-to-end electrical engineering solutions across regulated utility networks, commercial and industrial environments, and critical national infrastructure projects.

B&S Group’s established modular build footprint and technical expertise complements Ipsum’s existing power capabilities. The integration creates an optimised platform to provide customers with a single, comprehensive solution offering. This stretches from the initial design and fabrication of bespoke equipment through to on-site high-voltage and low-voltage substation and switchgear installation, commissioning, and ongoing lifecycle support for critical power systems.
