Ipsum Acquires Overhead Line Specialist Geraghty Ltd

Ipsum are delighted to announce the acquisition of Geraghty Ltd, a highly skilled and nationally respected overhead line service provider.

Based in Chorley, Geraghty Ltd has a wealth of specialist domain experience in electrical overhead line services, ranging from LV upto 33kV.

Geraghty Ltd marks the sixth acquisition for Ipsum within the power sector and the eighth acquisition overall, which helps strengthen our existing power and overhead line presence across the UK.

The Geraghty team will complement and lead Ipsum’s current overhead line capabilities and expand our experience and capacity to support our customers in upgrading their networks. Scope includes asset refurbishment and upgrades, installing pole mounted monitoring equipment and the construction of new overhead line infrastructure investments that play a major part in the UK’s energy transition.

The acquisition builds on a strong existing relationship, with Ipsum having worked with Geraghty Ltd for a number of years. The business will be branded as Ipsum and Nigel Geraghty will become Director – Overhead Lines. He and his team will continue to lead and support our current works in Electricity North West and UK Power Networks whilst growing our specialist offering to other UK DNO’s.
