As Ipsum grows its partnerships with leading utility companies, the focus remains on providing a one-solution, one-provider partner for all critical infrastructure.
Thames Water is a leading UK water and wastewater company, and Ipsum Group is currently supporting the development of its electrical and HV infrastructure requirements. The Group’s capability covers the full project lifecycle, from design and engineering through to construction, commissioning, and energisation.
Recently, Ipsum Group Company, RJ Power Connections has been awarded a project with MWH Treatment, on behalf of Thames Water, for the design and construction of HV cable diversions in Cricklewood.
This scheme will see the team deliver a fully turnkey ICP solution, covering both design and on-site execution. It will include Ipsum’s civils scope: cable routing design, buried services surveys, and the installation of joint bays and pulling chambers, alongside the procurement and installation of HV cable infrastructure in accordance with DNO standards.
On the electrical side, the team will undertake detailed system studies including load flow analysis, single line diagrams, protection coordination, and motor start assessments. We will also develop staging designs, and outage plans to ensure safe, sequenced, and efficient delivery.
Working closely with the DNO, the project will include design development and approvals, installation of new 11kV cable routes, network isolations and diversions, and the testing and commissioning of two new 11kV feeders to site.
In addition, we will deliver associated enabling works such as duct installation and joint bays, along with contingency planning, switchboard and ACB maintenance, and temporary generation provision where required. This ensures continuity of supply to critical systems throughout the works.
Ipsum is proud to be supporting MWH Treatment and Thames Water on this critical infrastructure project and look forward to delivering a safe, high-quality outcome.
It is the second Water Company in the last few months which has enlisted Ipsum Group’s specialist ICP capabilities.
