With an unprecedented investment of £104 billion over five years, AMP8 represents the most ambitious regulatory cycle to date, focusing on sustainability, digital innovation, and enhanced service delivery.
Historically, the water sector has faced criticism for underinvestment, performance issues, and environmental concerns. AMP8 aims to rectify these challenges by prioritising infrastructure resilience, environmental protection, and customer satisfaction. Key targets include a 45% reduction in storm overflow spills by 2030 and significant investments in overflow infrastructure and pollution reduction.
